Tom and Molly’s Essex Home Farm Wedding was exactly what you hope a family-home marquee day will be: personal, relaxed, and properly fun — without feeling like it’s been staged for the sake of it. The reception took place at Molly’s Nan’s farm just outside Colchester, which instantly gave the whole day that “everyone’s actually comfortable here” vibe. No venue rules, no conveyor-belt schedule… just a brilliant setting with real meaning behind it.

The day started at the farm with a calm, real-life kind of morning: people arriving, last-minute bits being sorted, laughter coming from the kitchen. The marquee was set up on familiar ground and filled with handmade décor and wildflowers — thoughtful, but not try-hard. Then it was off to St. Mary the Virgin Church in Ardleigh for a classic church ceremony with three readings (including “A Glass of Wine” by Andrew Motion) and singing during the register. Those moments don’t just look good — they feel good, and film is where they really land.

Back at the farm, the marquee reception hit its stride with oysters and cocktails on the lawn, guests drifting in and out, and that easy flow you only get with a home setup. Speeches brought the warmth (and the proper laughs), then the evening went full send when The Party Manifesto kicked off — seven musicians, two singers, and a dancefloor that filled instantly. No awkward “first few songs” lull. And yes, Nan was front and centre, setting the pace like a legend.
